We are seeking a mid-level software engineer to join our banking technology team. The ideal candidate will have a desire to learn and grow their skills at Simmons Bank. This role will involve working closely with various departments within the bank to support and make enhancements to reliable integrations within our external systems.

The primarily responsibilities of the Software Engineer are to:

  • Support all aspects of Simmons Enterprise Integration Services solutions

  • Address tickets, issues and alerts

  • Be the 'eyes on glass' for all Enterprise Integrations

  • Work closely with the internal team, extended IT system owners, partners and leadership

  • Develop, test and deploy enhancements/improvements to existing integrations

Soft-skills should include:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A solid understanding of Support and Operational process/es
  • Ability to work with business units, security, networking and operations to perform troubleshooting and resolve issues
  • Translate Root Causes into Operational improvements where possible
  • Modify existing software to resolve issues and meet business needs
  • Participate in triage calls and Operational reviews; understand escalation paths
  • Participate in team code reviews/peer reviews
  • Possess a desire to lead rotational on-call

Technical skills should include:

  • Understanding of enterprise IT ticketing system/workflows (Avanti, Service Desk, Freshworks, etc)
  • Working knowledge of multi-region cloud environments (Azure preferred)
  • Experience developing in Visual Studio
  • Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL
  • Working knowledge of .NET development platform and C#
  • Use of .NET Core as a batch loading tool (extract/load)
  • Understanding of Supervisor/Worker patterns
  • Knowledge of queuing (esp Rabbit MQ)
  • Knowledge of cloud EFTP solution/s
  • Working knowledge of APIs, SOAP/REST and object-oriented design
  • Technical Analysis; ability to modify/implement scripting, filter conditions
  • Experience with PowerShell/Scripting languages
  • Ability to interrogate and decipher logs
  • Understanding of Azure App Analytics, Postman, Log Analytics

Additional skills to put you ahead of the rest:

Finance/Banking domain knowledge; compliance, audit, etc

Understanding of DevOps processes/Azure DevOps

Use of Secure Code scanning tools

PERL script

Certifications desired but not required:

  • Azure Support Engineer (AZ720)
  • Azure Windows Server Hybrid Advanced Services (AZ801)
  • Microsoft Certified Azure Support Engineer
  • CompTIA and/or ITIL certification
